What is Mischief Mahj?
Mischief Mahj is a 32-card expansion deck for American Mahjong. It drops into the game you already play and adds surprise, laughs, and rule-changing twists, with no new tiles required and nothing to relearn. It was born at a lively monthly mahjong bash by a group of mahj-loving women who wanted to add a little pizzazz to a round or two.
Think of it as the spirit of “let’s spice it up… just ONE round.” You keep playing traditional Mahjong exactly as you do, and Mischief Mahj just gives you permission to cause a little chaos along the way.

Set up your normal game
Play American Mahjong exactly as you always do: your tiles, your rules, your table. Mischief Mahj sits right alongside them.
Shuffle in the Mischief deck
Place the 32 Mischief cards in a stack within reach. Read the included easy rule card once and you’re ready, first-timers included.
Draw a card, follow the chaos
At the moments your house rule decides, flip a Mischief card and do exactly what it says, even if it’s gloriously unfair.
Let the mischief fly
